When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.Acts 2:1-4

I am officially on Summer Break now!  One year of teaching under my belt. I will be doing some tutoring this summer, but I will have plenty of time to relax!

i am a procrastinator

i love to put things off till later. i am actually doing it right now. i should be grading. i could even be getting dinner ready right now. i even put off updating this till later (i'm sure you have noticed that already).

we are almost to the 4th quarter in school. i can hardly believe that my first year of teaching is almost complete. i found out today that the 'veteran' teacher of this year (who is on maternity leave right now) is not coming back in the fall. she will finish off the year, but will not come back next year. that means that all of us other 3rd grade teachers are quickly becoming 'veterans'.

my dog is licking the inside of my shoes that i sweat in all day. she is crazy, but i love her:)

My first entry of the new year.

Story - crazy thing a student put on a test:
Question: Choose one of Washington D.C.'s monuments and tell why it is important.
Answer: The Vietnam Veterans Memorial because it is for the soldiers who died in the whore (there were other spelling mistakes but I only remember the one at the end).

Who is the biggest sinner in the Bible? Moses - He broke all the commandments.

1. the best thing to happen to me so far in 2007 is...being able to spend quite a bit of time with my husband, and our group of friends. Continuing to grow deeper in those relationships.
2. The thing i'm looking forward to most in 2007 is...my five year anniversary!
3. Gretchen is so incredibly cool because...she has the coolest nicknames, and she started FDC! What great memories.

What do you call cheese that isn't yours?
Nacho cheese

Though I also like the answer anchovies.

I have been super busy. This week doesn't look less busy either. I am extremely excited because at this time next week I will be in MI!

Last Friday was our Christmas Program at school. It went really well. We left to practice during the day, and when we came back the lights in my room didn't work. I still had full use of outlets, computer, and TV. It was weird. So I talked to the maintainance guy. He messed around a bit with the breakers and such, but nothing seemed to happen. I watched 2 movies that day. I then arrived at school today, and my lights still did not turn on! The guys were not able to come fix them until after school. I had to spend another day without lights. The kids had a hard time concentrating. I just wanted to take a nap all day with such little light and Christmas lights glowing. Anyway, they work now!

One of my kids' favorite jokes: Who is the biggest sinner in the Bible?
